December, 5 th. The first night of the“Tempest” by Shakespeare!
October, 30th and 31st. Big poster advertisements are hung out all over the city: “The Gift of The Tsar of the Sea” – on a chamber stage of AMDT – Europe Theatre. First night!!!A performance is produced on the grant of Culture Committee within Saint Petersburg Government. This is an interactive play for family viewing. “Fairy-tale about fisherman and fish” by Pushkin and “Gift of a Sea King” by a Finnish classicist Sacarias Topelius underlie the play. It’s about a greedy old woman and nature which can’t be eternally generous as well as can’t allow people to showboat itself. When its patience is over it drops a greedy-guts with a broken wash-tub. Children should learn this since green years.
The play is devoted to a Russian literature’s great nurse Arina Rodionovna who has told legends of Finno-Ugric tribes to her nursling. That is to say that Pushkin’s fairy-tale about Russian old man and woman living by a blue sea is far and by a Finnish one. Students from Turku Art Academy who have done an internship at the “Kukolny format” are also involved into the project
Advisable age of young viewers is since 5 years.

09/02/2007Fedor Dostoevsky’s remembrance day. After the funeral service in a memorial flat we act out an episode from the play “Puppet Crime and Punishment”. There are great experts of Dostoevsky’s creative work in the audience hall. And their references are mostly benevolent.
07/01/2007 We arranged a children matinee for inmates of Children’s Homes. We presented our new work – a “Fairy Tale about Crocodiles” after Blez Sandrar’s “Negro Fairy Tales for Caucasian Children”... It’s an edifying story which Blez Sandrar has been probably told by African missionaries. The main characters of the fairy tale are a family of very perfidious crocodiles as they should be. However they are not very far-sighted. Basically stupidity often adjoins perfidy.
At first crocodiles have offended the birds - and birds have drunk water from crocodiles’ lake. Remained low water green reptiles have bitterly cried and persuaded a passing by hunter to carry them to water. (A doll of the hunter, a protagonist of a fairy tale, Anna Viktorova has made on a photo of Blez Sandrar - portrait similarity is obvious). In spite the hunter has suspected that didn’t need to trust crocodiles he nevertheless has agreed to help them. He has taken on his back five alligators - the daddy, mum, twin-brothers and their little sister - and brought them all to the next lake. And when crocodiles felt they were in secure, they have attacked the hunter. And all would end badly if not a faint-hearted but clever hare running by. It has rescued the hunter and crocodiles have been punished for the perfidy.
The fairy tale comes to the end with a sad song of crocodiles’ family.
That is, the good triumphs, and there is a topic for discussion with the younger generation on the way home. However the most important thing is that on an example of this history it is easy to explain to naive youth what crocodiles’ tears are...
